DUBAI: Afghanistan’s legspinner Rashid Khan has unseated Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi as the top bowler in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) men’s ODI bowling rankings, causing a major upset.
According to the most recent rankings, which were made public on Wednesday, Keshav Maharaj of South Africa is still in third position.
In the current series against Zimbabwe, Afridi, who rose to the top of the rankings after taking eight wickets at an average of 12.62 in Pakistan’s historic ODI series victory over Australia, was rested.
His bowling partner, Haris Rauf, who was crowned Player of the Series and played a key role in the 2-1 victory over Australia, has also dropped two spots to 15th.
