The 2024 Golden Globes are generating news for all the right (and bad) reasons. The host Jo Koy’s monologue, which included a joke about Taylor Swift that apparently did not delight her, has drawn criticism from critics despite the fact that the award presentation has attracted the highest ratings in years.
The most recent CBS award show saw a 50% increase in viewership compared to the previous year after drawing in 9.4 million people.
Meanwhile, the comedian hosting the show responded to his much discussed joke in which he humorously poked fun at the Carolina hitman who routinely went to see boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL games.
“I believe that happened when the Taylor Swift model was a tad bit flat.Well, it was a strange prank. But the NFL was the main focus,” he said on GMA3.
Jo went on, “I was attempting to parody the NFL by pointing out that the Globes didn’t need to use cutaways. Therefore, it was more of a dig at the NFL. However, that isn’t how it came out.
