Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick claims that the aging police department offices in New Orleans are so run-down and full of vermin that the animals were able to enter the evidence lock-up room.
“The rats that are consuming our marijuana are all high,” she informed the city council on Wednesday.
“The uncleanliness [in the building] is off the charts,” she stated.
According to Ms. Kirkpatrick, cockroaches and mold have taken over the building where the department has been housed since 1968. She also mentioned finding rat droppings on the desks of the officers.
Rats devour marijuana from the police evidence room because “they’re all high.”
According to the police chief of New Orleans, rats that gained entry into an evidence room of a dilapidated police headquarters building have been consuming marijuana that has been seized.
