Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General (IG) of the Punjab Police, has instructed the city traffic police (CTP) of Rawalpindi to keep up their campaign against motorcycle riders who do not wear helmets. In a news statement, Taimur Khan, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), disclosed that over 23,000 motorcyclists received fines as a result of the enforcement operation.
Due to motorcyclists failing to wear helmets, 970 motorcycles were seized as a result of the effort and transported to different police stations. Furthermore, more than 30,000 motorcycle riders have received education regarding the importance of using helmets for their own safety.
Rather than continually paying fines, the CTO recommended motorcyclists to prioritize their safety and purchase a helmet. The goal of the crackdown, he stressed, is not to give more tickets but rather to do it.
Rather than continually paying fines, the CTO recommended motorcyclists to prioritize their safety and purchase a helmet. He made it clear that the goal of the crackdown is to safeguard lives rather than to issue more tickets.
In addition, he expressed his gratitude to the riders who followed the rules and recognized the field officers’ contributions to the campaign’s accomplishment.
The CTO underlined that bikers are particularly susceptible to getting hurt in regular traffic incidents. Wearing a helmet greatly lowers the chance of brain injuries and even fatalities, thus he emphasized its importance.
