The SpongeBob SquarePants actor openly discussed his co-stars’ emotional bonds—Erivo plays Elphaba, while Grande plays Glinda—in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1.
“You know, they show their heart on their sleeves.” Slater, who played Boq in the film, started off by saying. “Their characters are so complex and nuanced because of their ability to be so emotionally connected in this way.”
“And I love this Glinda who is trying to figure out how to be a good person, and I love this Elphaba who is trying to figure out how to fit in,” he added after reflecting on the film’s characters.
