LAHORE: In response to a complaint made by the presiding judge of a Sargodha anti-terrorism court accusing law enforcement and intelligence agencies of harassing them, Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan of the Lahore High Court called Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and other officials on Wednesday.
District & Sessions Judge (D&SJ) Muhammad Abbas sent a special report to the LHC registrar office on June 7. In it, he stated that on May 25, the day he took up his new role as judge of the ATC Sargodha, he received a message stating that some ISI officials wanted to meet with him in his chamber.
However, the judge claimed that he immediately declined to meet with the purported authority.
..
Since then, the judge stated, he has been receiving additional oral reports from his family members who continue to reside in the previous home he was given when he was appointed judge of an Anti-Corruption Court in Bahawalpur. These reports allege that some unidentified individuals damaged the sui-gas meter outside the house during the night.
