ISLAMABAD: In the wake of the fatal Jaffar Express tragedy, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has made contradictory remarks regarding the in-camera session set for tomorrow (Tuesday), leaving the party unsure about whether to attend the crucial national security meeting.
Sheikh Waqas Akram, the PTI’s chief spokesperson, declared that the party would be present in the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting.
Junaid Akbar, the head of the PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, asserted that the party was unaware of the gathering.
He added that Imran Khan, the party’s founder, had to be consulted before any decisions could be made because his consent was necessary for such involvement.
Akbar went on to say that PTI would only proceed with any issue—including committee involvement—after consulting with its founder. He attested to the conversation about security presence.
