WASHINGTON: As the president-elect gets ready to succeed the Democrat in the White House, Donald Trump criticized Joe Biden on Tuesday for reducing the sentences of nearly all American federal prisoners on death row.
In his last month in office, President Biden declared on Monday that he was changing the sentences of 37 of the 40 federal prisoners who were on death row to life in prison without the chance of release.
They included nine people convicted of murdering fellow prisoners, four for murders committed during bank robberies and one who killed a prison guard.
“Joe Biden just commuted the Death Sentence on 37 of the worst killers in our Country,” Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform.
