The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) received notice from an Islamabad district and sessions court on Thursday regarding senior journalist Waheed Murad’s request to have the judicial magistrate’s physical remand order revoked.
The senior journalist was turned over to the FIA after a judicial magistrate approved a two-day physical remand for him the day before.
After being named in an FIA case involving the dissemination of false information, Murad, who was arrested earlier this week under the applicable provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) from his home, where his mother-in-law also resided, was brought before Magistrate Abbas Shah’s court in Islamabad.
