The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has clarified any misunderstandings regarding the new banknote series art competition, stating that the purpose of disclosing the results was to honor and commend the artists and competitors.
The central bank stated in a statement on Thursday that it launched an art competition in January of this year to gather suggestions for the new currency series’ themes.
The purpose of the art competition was to support regional artists and involve the public in the design process in accordance with global best practices.
The winning pieces from this competition were revealed on September 5, 2024, after the local artists’ submissions were assessed by a panel of well-known artists.
