ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Friday that neither she nor his wife would run in the upcoming general elections, which are scheduled for February 8 of next year.
In response to a question on Thursday, she declared she would not run in the 2019 general elections during a conversation with journalists outside the Islamabad High Court.
“I will not contest the election, even if Imran Khan asks (me), I will not participate in the election,” she said in response to another query.
“None of us are contesting elections,” Aleema replied in response to a question on Bushra Bibi or any other sister’s participation in the election. We are here solely to address the PTI founder’s cases.
She claimed that Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), had now appointed two umpires and was forbidding the players from taking the field.
People are now deprived of their nomination papers when they try to submit them, which is a clear confirmation of this. She said that the cipher case was a farce and that, given how quickly the trial was proceeding, it was possible that the death penalty would be handed down by December 30.
“We look to Allah for justice, and we should hold the Supreme Court accountable for justice as well, but the truth is what is in front of us all. The Supreme Court has ceased to disappoint us. Who will make decisions if the Supreme Court doesn’t?
From whom do you anticipate expectations? She said, “If justice does not come from there, it will come from Allah.”
