On June 3, 2010, brave police officer Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shamshad Akbar was killed in Shehzad Town while defending the people against a group of armed robbers. After confronting the robbers who were firing nearby, ASI Akbar gave his life in the ensuing gunfight.
A widow and children were left behind by the deceased officer. Despite their grief, his family exhibited pride in what he had given up. As his widow put it, “I’m proud of my martyred husband,” ASI Akbar was a very brave and nice man.
The departed officer’s children expressed their emotions on their father’s selflessness. His son commented, “We’re proud that our father sacrificed his life for the protection of the public,” while his daughter said, “We miss our father greatly.”
