A former member of the pop group The Pussycat Dolls acknowledged that she regretted having abortions and that her accomplishments paled in comparison to what she had lost.
On January 20, at the pro-life Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco, Jones gave a personal testimony about how her abortions had affected her life.
The 39-year-old singer talked about how, at the age of sixteen, she had her first abortion.
It hurt me, and I had the impression that something that should have always been in my body had been taken. I recall feeling as though my kidney or rib had been stolen and would never return when I woke up.I’m not sure when my first child passed away, And I’ll never find out when it was born. I can’t go to a grave to grieve the loss,” she said to the assembly.
A former Pussycat Dolls star has disclosed the abortion trauma that women experience. THIS IS MY STORY
Jones claimed that after joining the Pussycat Dolls at the age of 19, she became pregnant once more and was told to “get rid of it.”
During a concert performance, while she was still recuperating from the abortion, she remembered seeing two young girls staring at her with admiration and feeling guilty about her behavior and the promiscuous image she was portraying to her audience.
“That day, the Lord spoke to me through [them],” Jones acknowledged. “That conviction…hit me to my core.”
The singer talked about how her children’s abortions left a void in her heart that wasn’t filled by wealth or fame.
It’s not particularly lovely. Regardless of how much wealth you possess, how much recognition you acquire, or how many records you sell. Despite having a Grammy and selling over 30 million albums and 50 million singles globally, the Pussycat Dolls singer claimed that “none of it will bring my children back.”
