ISLAMABAD: Musadik Malik, the petroleum minister, flatly disputed media reports on Wednesday that said Pakistan and Russia had struck an agreement to import crude oil at a reduced price.
“It is completely untrue to say that a crude oil deal with Russia has been reached. “There has been no agreement reached with Russia on such a deal,” Malik told the reporters.
The federal minister’s explanation follows reports that Islamabad had accepted Moscow’s offer to acquire Russian crude oil at a reduced price.
According to media sources, both nations decided to resume the crude oil trade in January 2025 during the Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC) conference in Moscow.
