Days before he passed away in August 2023, the woman, who the news is calling Melanie, thinks authorities were about to detain him for her claims.
According to a investigation that was released on Thursday, the millionaire is accused of sexually abusing over 20 women. Five reported having been raped.
Melanie is only one of many former employees of Harrods who have come forward to the news to report that they have been attacked following the broadcast of the documentary and podcast Al-Fayed: Predator at Harrods.
The inquiry turned substantial proof that Harrods covered up abuse claims while Fayed was its owner, in addition to failing to act.
Melanie’s testimony is being made in light of fresh information about the police and prosecutors’ futile attempts to hold Fayed accountable during his lifetime. On Friday, a group of women’s advocates who have spoken with the news will present their case against Harrods.
Note that there are details in this narrative that some people may find upsetting.
“Dickhead… slutty”
Before 2010, Melanie spent a few years working at Harrods. At the age of 21, she referred to her employment there as her “dream job”.
She had twice met Fayed, who was then in his late seventies, during work meetings before being called to his Park Lane flat in London.
