618 proteins were discovered to be connected to 19 different disease forms, including breast, prostate, and bowel malignancies.
Approximately 107 of the proteins were discovered in a set of individuals whose blood was drawn at least seven years prior to diagnosis.
It is hoped that the results will serve as a “crucial first step” toward developing preventative medications and aiding in the fight against cancer before it ever begins.
