The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has announced a Re0.18 per unit reduction in electricity prices for Karachi consumers under the September 2024 monthly adjustment, The News reported.
Electricity bills for December 2024 will reflect the cut.
Nepra’s notification states that customers who use up to 300 units per month would not be affected by this change.
The News claims that K-Electric petitioned Nepra in October to provide customers a Re0.16 unit refund as part of the September 2024 Fuel Charge Adjustments (FCA).
This return, which comes to almost Rs 247 million, is one of the few times the utility is prepared to provide customers with assistance.
