PARACHINAR: According to a report by The News on Thursday, local government (LG) representatives have threatened to quit their jobs if the roads in Kurram district are not reopened right away as the sit-in protest against the closure of the Afghan border and arteries enters its sixth day in Parachinar.
Agha Muzamil Hussain, the chairman of Upper Kurram Tehsil, threatened to resign along with other LG delegates in protest if the road blockades persisted.
Approximately two and a half months have passed since the Peshawar-Parachinar Road and the Afghan border were closed to traffic.
Following the gun attack on passenger cars, which sparked yet another round of violence in Kurram, the situation worsened.
