On Saturday, Dreyfuss made an appearance at the Beverly, Massachusetts, Cabot Theatre.
The executive director of the theater, Casey Soward, said in a statement that Dreyfuss used language that “does not reflect the values of inclusivity and respect that we uphold as an organization.” The remarks allegedly included remarks about Barbra Streisand, the transgender community, and women in film.

He stated that the location is aware of the “serious concerns” that participants had after the event.
“We walked out of his interview tonight along with hundreds of others because of his racist, homophobic, misogynistic rant,” Lisa Howe wrote in an update to the theater’s Facebook page.
The event was described as “an evening of misogyny and homophobia with Richard Dreyfuss” by another, who was mentioned by News.
