Gere told News Digital, “It’s time for my wife to be around her family, friends, and culture.” Additionally, it benefits our children. Living in another culture—not just visiting—is fantastic, in my opinion.
Alejandra Silva, an activist who was born and reared in Spain and met the actor years before they started dating, is Gere’s wife of five years.
In 2015, Silva told Hola!, “The instant we laid eyes on one another, our karma was drawn to each other. The issues vanish when there is such powerful karmic energy, and I’m not discounting the fact that we are not the same age or what it’s like to be with a Hollywood star.”
