After a “busy” day at work on Wednesday, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States, officially took on the diplomatic duties of his position in Washington.
A news release stated that Rizwan was met at the airport in the US capital by representatives of the US State Department and the embassy.
On Wednesday, Rizwan made his first engagement, holding introductory sessions with embassy staff where he highlighted objectives about Pakistan’s economic predicament.
Along with receiving a thorough briefing from the leaders of several ministries, he had a packed first day at work. Next, he had a Zoom meeting with the Pakistani consul generals in the US.Previously, Rizwan performed diplomatic responsibilities with past ambassadors Jalil Abbas Jilani, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Asad Majeed Khan, and Ali Jahangir Siddiqui. He was also the deputy head of mission at the Pakistan Embassy for a considerable amount of time.
The newly appointed Pakistani envoy to the US emphasized the value of the connection between Pakistan and the US during his meeting with the embassy’s officers.
