Director Oliver Stone recently chastised Ryan Gosling for his performance in Barbie.
The 77-year-old director shared his thoughts on Greta Gerwig’s hit film with City AM, arguing that it was a part of the “infantilization of Hollywood.”
“If Ryan Gosling is doing that shit for money, then he’s wasting his time.” He ought to be directing more somber movies. He has no place in this Hollywood infantilization. The JFK creator stated, “Now it’s all fantasy, fantasy, fantasy, including all the war pictures: fantasy, fantasy.”
The 43-year-old actor said in a recent interview that he was persuaded to play Ken by his girls’ affection for Barbie.
“At first, they kept asking, ‘Hey, can we go to Target?’ so I knew they enjoyed it. The Lala Land star remembered, “And we went to Target, and then they’d slowly go by the Barbie aisle.”
“And my spouse and I came to the realization that it could be time to give them Barbies. Ryan told E!News, “And no interest in Ken, which was pretty interesting, too.”
