All coalition members have received dinner invitations from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss “legislative amendments” in Parliament on Monday. The government is allegedly getting close to a two-thirds majority in the legislature, and the proposed legislation would raise both the retirement age and the number of judges in the higher courts.
According to sources, as part of their planning, the PPP and the PML-N have “successfully bolstered” the coalition partners’ numerical game.
Ahead of significant future laws and revisions, the President’s House and the Prime Minister’s Office have both gotten busy, holding separate meals for supporters of opposing political parties. However, only PPP members were present for President Asif Ali Zardari’s dinner.
