Many official media accounts, including RT and Rossiya Segodnya, were suspended globally due to allegations that they conducted covert operations aimed at influencing social media users.
The Russian Embassy in the UK has now stated to News that Russia “maintains a steadfast policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other nations” and that the ban “casts doubt on the so-called democratic principles and values that the West claims to uphold.”
“We would like to reaffirm that Russia maintains a steadfast policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other nations,” the embassy stated.
We view Meta’s recent actions against RT as an overt act of censorship that calls into question the values and principles of democracy that the West purports to support.”
They’re accusing the same thing of censorship as RT, who said to News, “It’s cute how there’s a competition in the West – who can try to spank RT the hardest in order to make themselves look better”.
“After blocking RT in Europe for two years, Facebook and Meta are now controlling the flow of information to the rest of the globe.
