Ryan Gosling made a reference to the film that The Nice Guys passed over for a sequel.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Gosling revealed the true reason a sequel to his 2016 action comedy was never planned.
He went on, pointing fingers at the film’s lackluster box office performance and said, “I think the opening weekend of a movie determines a lot about a sequel, and we opened up against Angry Birds.”
The Barbie actor said that the movie’s destiny was sealed with its box office debut. “So Angry Birds, just, just destroyed us,” he said. There is an Angry Birds sequel.
The 43-year-old actor plays Holland March in the aforementioned film, a private investigator that Mrs. Glenn hires to track out her niece.
