CAPE TOWN: During the second Test match against South Africa, Saim Ayub, Pakistan’s aggressive left-handed opener, twisted his ankle while fielding and hobbled off the field on Friday.
The incident happened on the first day of the last Test, which is being played at the Newlands in Cape Town, during the first session.
In the seventh over, Ryan Rickelton steered a longer delivery from Mohammad Abbas under the slip cordon and into the third-wicket area.
Ayub sprinted to be the relay fielder when Aamir Jamal pulled the ball back in from the boundary in deep third-man territory, but he staggered backwards after losing his balance.
