Babar Azam’s current form drop has been explained by former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, who has identified two main elements that are raising questions about the star batter.
Speaking to a local sports channel, Butt, 39, emphasized that the lack of sufficient support from his teammates and the enormous strain on Babar as Pakistan’s top run scorer are the main causes of the harsh criticism he is receiving.
Butt clarified that the team’s high reliance on Babar is aggravating his recent performance problems, which are not just a result of his form. “Babar is among the most reliable performers of the last 10 years and is without a doubt Pakistan’s top batter. But the issue right now is that everyone is depending on him to carry the team,” Butt said.
