As the holiday came to an end on Thursday, the department announced that all educational institutions under the jurisdiction of the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad, would remain open on Saturdays.
All heads of institutions in Islamabad model schools, colleges, and rural areas received a notification from the directorate stating that the decision would take effect on August 10 [Saturday].
“This initiative aims to promote healthy activities like sports and mind games, remedial classes, and foundational literacy,” it stated.
On Saturdays, all employees are expected to work according to regular business hours. The statement stated that the two-hour courses were optional for the kids.
