With immediate effect, Saudi Arabia has loosened its tourist visa rules for visitors from Pakistan.
This program makes the visa application process more accessible by enabling candidates to submit a bank statement demonstrating a minimum monthly credit balance of $750 or its equivalent.
Travelers from Pakistan have always been drawn to Saudi Arabia as a foreign destination. According to the latest data, there was a 43% rise in Pakistani visitors in 2023 as compared to the year before. Saudi Arabia intends to host 2.7 million tourists from Pakistan by 2024, demonstrating its dedication to promoting travel from that country.
Saudi Arabia has expedited the visa application procedure through six Tasheer offices located around Pakistan, including Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan, in order to accommodate the increasing demand.
These offices provide a smooth and convenient service that includes biometric enrollment, passport delivery, status tracking, and advice on visa applications. On the Tasheer website, visitors can easily make an appointment in advance of their trip.
Apart from relaxing the restrictions for tourist visas, Saudi Arabia has instituted a transit visa for passengers arriving through Saudia and Flynas. With this visa, travelers can spend up to 96 hours traveling through and exploring Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, visitors with a current, valid UK, US, or Schengen visa may apply for a visa upon arrival.
