On Thursday, Saudi Arabian astronomers forecast that the Shawwal moon would be seen in the kingdom on Saturday night, Ramadan 29, 1446 Hijri, which is March 29, 2025. This means that Eid ul Fitr is probably going to take place on March 30.
According to Arab media, the new moon is predicted to emerge in Saudi Arabia on March 29 at 2:00 PM and be visible for eight minutes after sunset.
The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), however, stated that there was little likelihood of seeing the moon on March 29 in Saudi Arabia because the new moon would only be five hours old at sunset in Makkah.
