ISLAMABAD: Justice Jamal Mandokhail of the Supreme Court asked on Wednesday if an Army member who commits a crime at home would be subject to the Army Act’s jurisdiction.
The comments were made during the hearing of intra-court appeals against civilian military trials on Wednesday by a seven-member constitutional bench presided over by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
The court heard arguments from Salman Akram Raja, the attorney of Arzam Junaid, the convicted guy.
Raja contended at the hearing that there were two concerns in the case, one of which had to do with Article 175. Regarding fundamental rights, he declared that the doors will not be closed.
Justice Mandokhail asked if fundamental rights may be violated if they were combined with a particular act.
