The goal of lowering greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030 is unachievable, according to a report from the Climate Change Committee (CCC), which the Scottish government will address at Holyrood on Thursday.
The impartial specialists claim that the broader ambitions are “beyond what is credible.”.
The decision was dubbed “the worst environmental decision in the history of the Scottish parliament” by the campaign group Friends of the Earth Scotland.
Ministers and other government representatives have not yet responded to rumors that the government’s goals may be scaled back, but many sources predict a reversal of course.
