The Scots qualified for the event for the first time by making it to the final two, however they lost by 68 runs and were unable to take home the trophy.
Due to the defeat, they are now placed in Group B for the tournament and will play the West Indies, South Africa, and Bangladesh’s home nation before taking on England in Dhaka on October 14.
As a prize for winning the championship, Sri Lanka will be placed in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, India, and Pakistan.
