Scotland’s skies are full of unusual clouds.

According to the Met Office, the clouds grow high up in the Earth’s atmosphere throughout the summer and are incredibly unusual.
The word “night shining” in Latin refers to how the clouds typically appear to be silvery or bluish in color.
The Scottish Borders, northeastern Scotland, and the Western Isles have all reported seeing them.
