High-ranking police officers and international officials visited the scene of the deadly explosion near the Karachi airport signal, which left two foreigners dead and 17 others injured, including one foreigner. The purpose of their visit was to assess the situation.
While police officials briefed the consulate team visiting the scene on the specifics of the occurrence, they examined the evidence present at the scene.
The incident is being handled by the authorities as a targeted attack. According to local sources, the injured are being treated at Jinnah Hospital and other medical facilities.
Thirteen of the seventeen injured were first sent to Jinnah Hospital, from which eight have been released. The hospital is still providing medical attention to four patients, three of whom are being treated in the neurosurgery unit and one in the orthopaedic ward.
