LAHORE: According to The News, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi encouraged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to call off its February 8 demonstration plan in Lahore, threatening to handle any public assembly the same way it did on November 26.
His comments coincide with the opposition party’s major campaign against the general elections in 2024.
The former ruling party has organized protests across the nation as part of its campaign against the 2024 elections.
According to the security czar, the government would ask PTI to call off the protests. “We will respond in the same way and the state will take action if PTI does not listen to us, as they did on November 26.”
