At the age of 15, Selena Gomez recalls a touching incident with a young mother.
At The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala on Wednesday, Gomez was presented with the Equity in Entertainment Award.
To the “people who don’t have voices and have been overlooked, pushed aside, and most importantly have been disrespected,” the singer and actress dedicated the prize.
The site claims that the actress from Only Murders in the Building remembered a period when she was a teenager and was working on a “kid show.”
“She was with her daughter and she said, ‘I’m so excited and happy,'” Gomez disclosed when she was approached by a young mother from the audience.
