The Senate committee on climate change, which examined monsoon season preparations, was chaired by Senator Sherry Rehman.
According to Sherry Rehman, this season’s monsoon rains are thought to be harmful. A PPP senator stated, “No country could tackle the super flood.”
Officials from the concerned institutions would be contacted to obtain information, she stated. Senator Rehman stated, “We must exercise caution given the destruction caused by the super flood in 2022.”
She went on, “We need to see what steps the institutions have taken to keep losses to a minimum.” She continued by saying that cattle and crops had suffered losses due to frequent heatwaves.
She stated that Pakistan will be added to the list of nations experiencing water scarcity by the UN in 2025.
