ISLAMABAD: In honor of International Women’s Day, the Senate adopted a resolution on women’s rights on Saturday, calling for all-encompassing actions to advance gender equality in Pakistan.
Senator Sherry Rehman introduced the resolution, which urges the government to give women more business and job possibilities in order to promote their economic empowerment. It also emphasizes the necessity of promptly resolving cases involving violence against women and calls for a ban on child marriages.
