KARACHI: Senator Raza Rabbani, a well-known politician and constitutional expert, participated in a panel discussion on the constitution and the rule of law on the second day of the Karachi Literature Festival.
Speaking at the event, Senator Rabbani emphasized the significance of reviewing the Constitution’s framework and tackling important issues regarding Pakistan’s statehood and its development since gaining independence.
He emphasized that the most recent amendment to the Constitution is the 26th Amendment. “We need to focus on the fundamental question—what is the structure of the Constitution? What is the role of the state of Pakistan, and what has it achieved since its inception?” he questioned.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, envisioned a liberal democratic state.
