ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is urging the party’s senior officials to set a date for a do-or-die demonstration and potential sit-in in Islamabad. However, he is being convinced that if the protest is announced without careful planning and weighing the advantages and disadvantages, it might backfire.
According to PTI sources who spoke to The News, the majority of the party’s top leaders who serve in the KPK government or in parliament oppose staging a full-scale demonstration.
Even some fervent orators worry that a full-scale demonstration will fail and could harm the party and its purpose.
Nearly all of the top PTI lawmakers oppose the do-or-die demonstration, arguing that it won’t aid in Imran Khan’s release .
