Mansoor Ali Shah, a senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, has emphasized the need of carrying out the rulings of the higher court, stating that it is not an option to “disregard or delay” the decisions.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad on Saturday, he declared, “The SC verdict cannot be disregarded or delayed or else the entire legal system will be disrupted and the balance of the Constitution will be out if you seek non-implementation of judgments.”
“It is fundamental to the Constitution that the decisions made by the Supreme Court are always carried out,” Justice Shah stated, emphasizing that there has never been a situation in which a ruling by the highest court has not been put into effect.
According to him, it would be “a violation of the Constitution” to not carry out the SC orders.
