The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday that during an intelligence-based operation in the Lakki Marwat district, at least 11 terrorists—who were responsible for the martyrdom of seven army men—had been slain.
The IBO was conducted in reaction to the recent Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion that cost the lives of seven courageous soldiers, according to a statement from the military’s media wing. The goal of the operation was to bring the people responsible for the horrific act to justice.
Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir were two of the men that died on the battlefield.
Eleven terrorists were successfully neutralised during the operation, which was conducted with the help of own forces who successfully engaged the terrorists’ position. Multiple terrorist hideouts were also discovered.
It concluded that the security services are committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism from the nation and are conducting a sanitization operation to remove any other terrorists discovered in the area.
23 terrorists were neutralized by security personnel during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) that were carried out in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) last month from May 26 to 27.
Six terrorists were shot dead by security forces during an IBO on May 26 in the Hassan Khel neighborhood of Peshawar district, and other hideouts were discovered.
Ten terrorists were slain on May 27 in another operation that took place in the Tank district after the army successfully engaged the terrorists’ location.
