PTI leader Shandana Gulzar has denied rumors that there are splits within the party in response to assertions made by former leaders and calls for resignation from assembly made by certain lawmakers.
“They want us to not talk about Imran Khan’s release and Operation Azm-i-Istehkam, so this [talk of divisions] is absolutely nonsense,” she stated during her appearance on News Insight with Amir Zia, which aired on News on Friday.
Regarding the obvious splits within the party, she was questioned. After Sher Afzal Marwat opted to step down from politics after being kicked out of the party’s core and political committees, such rumors began to circulate.
Shandana stated that the matter concerned resigning from the parliamentary position, since party member Shehryar Afridi had called for this in response to the inability to bring the PTI founder out.
In response to a question, the MNA stated that it was hard to comprehend why people believed that party leaders had assembled outside Adiala Jail following Khan’s summons.
The former prime minister, she said, would soon be released from prison. Remarking, “The main issue is that they want to break our government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and make the operation successful,” Shandana questioned the timing of counterterrorism operations. I have no idea where terrorists emerge from to launch operations in KP whenever minerals are found there. These are outdated strategies.
