The Shawwal moon is projected to occur on March 29, be sighted on March 30, and Eid ul Fitr is predicted to fall on March 31 (Monday), according to a statement released by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) on Wednesday.
The Suparco’s forecast is based on astronomical calculations, scientific evaluations, and current observational data regarding the Shawwal moon’s visibility forecast.
“According to precise astronomical models, the new Moon (conjunction) for Shawwal will occur on 29 March 2025, at 3:58pm.”
The Suparco statement stated that “the visibility of the crescent depends on key factors such as the moon’s age, its angular separation from the sun, altitude at sunset, and atmospheric conditions.”
