Until the next hearing, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has put a hold on the notification’s implementation regarding the acquisition of 138 double-cabin automobiles for Assistant Commissioners.
Muhammad Farooq, a Jamaat-e-Islami member of the Sindh Assembly, brought his case before the SHC with the assistance of Usman Farooq, his attorney.
The parties concerned have four weeks to reply to the petition, according to the court.
The case centers on a letter that the Services, General Administration & Coordination Department (SGA&CD) of the Sindh Government sent out asking for the money to be released so that these cars can be bought.
The court intervened after petitioner Muhammad Farooq expressed concerns about the use of public monies for the acquisition.
