Along with Brett Mazur, Binzer—who went by the stage name Shifty Shellshock—formed the group in Los Angeles in 1995.
According to the website of the examiner, he passed away on Monday. The cause of death is yet unknown.

After that, he carried on with the group as Crazy Town X, going on their final tour in 2023.
In addition to being a soloist, Binzer battled drug addiction and participated in two seasons of the reality TV programs Sober House and Celebrity Rehab.
