Along with Brett Mazur, Binzer—who went by the stage name Shifty Shellshock—formed the group in Los Angeles in 1995.
According to the website of the examiner, he passed away on Monday. The cause of death is yet unknown.
The third single from rap rock group Crazy Town, Butterfly, became an early 2000s anthem and peaked at number one in the US and number three in the UK singles charts.

After that, he carried on with the group as Crazy Town X, going on their final tour in 2023.
In addition to being a soloist, Binzer battled drug addiction and participated in two seasons of the reality TV programs Sober House and Celebrity Rehab.
