In the Kuccha area of the Shikarpur district, Station House Officer Sohrab Odho was slain in a firefight between two rival clans.
There was fierce fighting between the Jatoi and Mehar tribes, according to sources. SHO Odho was shot in the head and died as a result of the gunfire directed against police officers who were trying to break up the brawl.
More police reinforcements were sent to the Kuchha region after the incident.
There have apparently been sporadic gunshots during the Mehar-Jatoi confrontation for several days.
The Interior Minister paid respect to the deceased SHO’s sacrifice in the line of duty while battling criminal groups and offered his sympathies to his family.
According to the Minister, SHO Odho became a martyr for his valiant battle against criminals.
