ABC News claimed that baseball star Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers has announced his marriage.
The 29-year-old actor shared the news on Instagram, writing, “The season is approaching, but I would like to announce to everyone that I have gotten married.”
Ohtani, a prominent celebrity in Japan, kept his normally secretive approach to personal things, suppressing information about his new marriage.
Ohtani, who recently signed a $700 million, 10-year contract with the Dodgers, expressed excitement about embarking on a new chapter in both his professional and personal life.
Despite his move to the Dodgers, he highlighted a new beginning with someone important from his native Japan.
“I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers, but I also have started a new life with someone from my native country of Japan who is very special to me,” Ohtani told the Los Angeles Times. He recommended that the media refrain from conducting unauthorised interviews.
He accompanied his announcement with a photo of his dog “Dekopin” (also known as “Decoy”), expressing hope that the trio – himself, his spouse, and the pet – will work together happily.
