Due to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit being held in Islamabad, the federal capital, traders and businesspeople in Rawalpindi have closed their stores for a period of three days.
The Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajiran said that stores and companies in Rawalpindi will be closed for three days. This choice was chosen in order to provide seamless security arrangements for the international dignitaries that will be present at the event.
The business community has assured the administration of its complete cooperation in the security measures, even as it extends a warm welcome to foreign dignitaries visiting Pakistan.
During a meeting at the Newtown Police Station, the general secretary Raja Tauheed and president Shahid Ghafoor Piracha of the Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajiran, together with other representatives of the trade association, pledged their complete collaboration with the local authorities.
